Dr. Oden
Managing Veterinarian
Dr. Amanda Oden grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and attended Altamont School, Wellesley College in Massachusetts, and Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. A practitioner of internal medicine, emergency medicine, soft tissue, and dental surgery for over 30 years, she uses Fear Free treats, medications, and handling to calm her patients. She is USDA accredited to write national and international animal health certificates. In 2006, the Humane Society of the United States recognized Dr. Oden for her service in rescuing and treating animals stranded in Hurricane Katrina flooding. Also a speaker, teacher, and certified life coach, Dr. Oden is part of the AVMA and Merck Train The Trainer Veterinary Communication initiative and has presented veterinary and coaching lectures at specialty hospitals, veterinary schools, and international conferences. She is a member of the AVMA and the International Association of Animal Hospice and Palliative Care. She lives with 3 cats and a dog, loves visiting her daughter, going to the theater, and fine dining.
Dr. Norris
Veterinarian
Dr. Mandy Norris grew up in a small town in North Alabama. She graduated from THE Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. Dr. Norris maintains a particular interest in dentistry and internal medicine. When not at work, Dr. Norris enjoys all activities outdoors, traveling, and being active in her church. Her family includes her husband, Bryant, and their two dogs and one cat. She loves being a veterinarian and looks forward to serving the pets of Vestavia Hills and Mountain Brook.
Dr. Harmon
Veterinarian
Dr. Harmon is originally from Mathews, AL where she grew up caring for dogs, cats, horses, cows, and goats. She received her B.S. Degree in Biology from Samford University where she played softball. She graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine with honors in 2014. Since graduation, she has practiced in and around Birmingham for the past 8 years before joining Animal Hospital of the Hills. Dr. Harmon believes animals truly bring the best out in people and loves talking to people about their pets. Her professional interests include internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. In her free time, she enjoys playing sports, being outdoors, visiting Universal Studios, and spending time with her three-legged cat, Olive.
Karen D.
Practice Manager
Karen has been in the veterinary medicine field for 30 years. She received her bachelor of arts degree from the University of Minnesota and went on to receive her veterinary technician registration from the Bel-Rae Institute, and received her MBA from Duquesne University. She prides herself on her employees’ growth and their patient’s well-being. In her free time, Karen enjoys being outdoors as much as possible and spending time with her two dogs and three cats—Squid (who is a flyball champion), Bronson, Snowball, Squeak, and Timothy.

Amanda F.
Groomer
Amanda has been grooming for 4 years. She attended Shelton State Community College. Amanda prides herself in the love and kindness she shows pets. She always strives to do the best for them as she is patient and tries to understand their needs. In her free time, she enjoys art and dancing at festivals. She also loves curling up with her cats for a nap or playing video games. In the summer, she loves paddleboarding and swimming as much as she can.
